Adding a Data Entry Element

There are two ways to add a new data entry element.

From a Desktop or Script

The easiest way to add a new data entry element is from the desktop or script in which you’ll use the data entry element. To do this, follow these steps:

  1. Drag a data entry element control onto the desktop or script.
  2. Click Desktop control menu cogwheel and then Properties.
  3. Under the Element name property, click Add.
  4. In the Name box, type a name for the data entry element.
  5. Click SAVE.

The data entry element is added to the same universe as the desktop or script.

From the Data Entry Designer

You can also add a new data entry element directly from the Data Entry Designer. To do this, follow these steps:

  1. In the list of data entry elements, click Add. The Add Data Entry Element section is shown.
  2. In the Name box, type a name for the data entry element.
  3. In the Universe dropdown, select the universe to which this data entry element should be added.
  4. Click Save.
