Attachments

Customers

The customer can upload an attachment, such as a Microsoft Word document or a photograph, to a web chat or social media chat.

After they upload a file, the attachment is displayed in the chat as a link, which you can use to download and view the attachment.

Agents

You can upload attachments to a web chat using the upload button (cloud icon) at the side of the message box.

After you upload a file, the attachment is displayed in the chat as a link, which the customer can use to download and view the attachment.

Restrictions

  • You cannot attach files to social media or SMS chats.
  • The file size limit is 5 MB.
  • The file types that you are permitted to upload are decided by your organization. Ask your supervisor for a list of approved file types if you don't know what they are.
